Richard joined Montpelier as a senior underwriter in March 2002 and was named the active underwriter of Syndicate 5151 in July 2007. He has 24 years of property underwriting experience embracing boiler and machinery, construction and erection risks, direct and facultative and most recently catastrophe and risk excess property reinsurance. His career has included appointments with CIGNA, AIG and AXA Re in London and abroad, latterly as underwriting manager of the property and casualty division for Cox syndicate at Lloyd's. Richard has an honors degree in Engineering and Mathematics from Reading University.
